A list of the best subreddits for data science

Reddit is a social news aggregator made up of hundred of thousands of user boards known as subreddits. It is one of the fastest growing communities on the Internet. In this article, I have listed my-go-to list of the most resourceful data science communities on Reddit:

r/dataisbeautiful

A great community where BI enthusiasts share visualizations of all types of data sets. r/dataisbeautiful is a great place to learn new techniques or get inspiration in how to visualize your own data.

r/datascience

A helpful community of aspiring and established data science practitioners who share ideas, ask/give advice, post projects, discuss tools and do networking. Believe it or not a lot of people have gotten hired from this sub.

r/DataVizRequests

Great place to either request a data visualization or ask how to do a particular visualization. Members of this sub are one of the most helpful users on Reddit.

r/Futurology

Although not a data science subreddit in particular, r/Futurology is a great place to get the last developments in tech (covers AI news a lot)

r/learnmachinelearning

Want to learn machine learning, look no further! This is a great community where ML and AI enthusiasts discuss everything from logistic regression to new techniques like capsule networks.

r/MachineLearning

A newbie friendly community of veteran ML practitioners. One of the oldest ML communities on reddit. ML royalty from Andrew Ng to Geoffrey Hinton have graced this sub in Q&A sessions.

r/MLQuestions

Are you stuck on a problem? Maybe you don’t know which model to apply to your data set. When should you use the PR vs ROC curve. Get all your ML questions answered here.

r/visualization

All your visualization topics housed under one roof (tutorials, guides, discussion threads). You can also request critique for your work.

r/tableau

Tableau has become the go-to tool for visualization and this sub is an excellent resource for tableau practitioners.
